This is a suicide note from a young man, with a promising future, who had suffered depression and he ended it all by committing suicide. After 3 days of searching, his body was found.
The case of this young man has been running through my mind a lot, lately. Maybe because I know people who knew him or or maybe because at that time, we (@bantzwithtee) were also dealing with a couple of suicidal teens BUT for whatever reason, I just decide to put this out there TODAY!
Ladies and Gents. Boys and girls, dear fellow humans (especially Africans), depression is real. Depression is a mental health illness characterised by low mood, lack of motivation, feeling of self worth etc and it can 'happen' to anyone. Noone is immune to it or has the 'vaccine' for it, it could be anyone around you now, so please, if you notice someone starting to feel or behave different by 'exhibiting any of these' symptoms' detailed above, please do not ignore them. It could be a friend, relative, neighbor, anyone, please speak with them, try and get them to 'share' whatever is going on.
People, we need to look after ourselves - mentally and physically, it's very important. If paradventure, you or anyone you know are experiencing this, please, speak to someone you can trust, a doctor or you could buzz us, we are constantly at your service. Just, please do not keep it to yourself.
Some signs you might maybe want to look out for:
Feelings of sadness that won’t go away
Feeling like hope is lost
Feeling worthless
Anxiety
Loss of interest in things you used to like
Eating too much/too little
Unable to sleep
Unable to concentrate
No energy
Irritability
Headaches, or other pains in the body
Thoughts of suicide
It isn't just a case of anxiety or any of these, just talking (really letting it all out), might make a different. Talk to someone, please.
